It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles L. Akes Jr. of Milton Freewater, Oregon, who passed away on May 24, 2021, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Marcia; his children, Sharee LaRue-Wright of Milton-Freewater, Jacqueline "Jaci" Jorgensen of Bremerton, Candace Gaudin of Sandy, Carisa "Cris" Cooper of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Charles "Len" Akes, III of Prescott, Kenneth LaRue of Rexburg, Clay Akes and Colton Akes of Walla Walla, Washington; and his sisters, Lucia Kelly of Pasco, Roberta Isley of Burbank and Esther "Lonnie" Danner of Umatilla, Oregon. He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
