He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Gundersen and Doris Klindt; his sister Rosemary; and his grandson Oliver. He is survived by: his wife Paula; his children, Kimberly and Walter; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Emily, Caitlin, Zachary, Joshua, Benjamin and Samuel; and his sister Karen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made out in James's name to the Mill City Christian Church Building Fund and Santiam Canyon Community Chorus.
