It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jerrold Wight Baxter of Medical Springs, Oregon, born in Union, Oregon, who passed away on August 6, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Baxter and Edith Baxter; his brothers, Bryce, Kendall and Don; his daughter Layne; and his daughter-in-law Karen.
He is survived by: his significant other Janice Foye of Medical Springs; his children, Jerrold Kent, Kurt (Angie), Ryan, Kitt and Danalee Jensen (Shawn); and his son-in-law Lane Roberts (Wendy). He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A National Science Foundation Scholarship took Jerry and Janice to Hawaii, where he studied marine biology.
