Joesph Nathaniel Mahan Obituary
Joseph Nathaniel "Nathan" Mahan passed away at Providence St. Vincent Hospital on July 18th, 2017 in Portland, Oregon due to complications with heart failure. He was 29.
Nathan was born on December 21st, 1987, in Portland, Oregon to parents Joseph and Teresa Mahan. He graduated from McMinnville High School in 2009. Nathan was born with Cerebral Palsy, but he never let his disability stop him from belting out a contagious laugh, pulling the hair of his younger sisters or flirting with any pretty waitress he came across.
Nathan had a kind and empathetic spirit which could be seen through his love of animals and his bashful smile. He became friends with anyone he met, and he touched many hearts. His family and his many friends will miss his playful, often mischievous attitude. His strength through his many struggles in his short but meaningful life is an inspiration to all of those close to him. There will never be another person quite like him.
Nathan is survived by his parents, his sisters Jennifer Mahan and Sarah Jean Lee (Mahan) and brother-in-laws Andrew Murga and Daniel Lee.
A service in Nathan's honor will be held at Macy's and Son funeral home on Saturday, July 29th at 11 a.m. There will be a viewing on Thursday the 27th and Friday the 28th from 4-7 at the same location. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Nathan's name to your local animal shelter
