He was predeceased by: his wife Kay; his daughter Heather; and his parents, Carl Helkey and Lydia Helkey. He is survived by: his children, Holly and Levi; and his grandchildren, Devlin, Dillon, Jane, Alexandra and Chloie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to SouthSide Youth Outreach of Corvallis, Oregon.
