He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Edward and Dale Sylvia Matheny (Power); and his siblings, Thomas David Matheny, James Alan Matheny and Jeanette Ann Matheny.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy of Lebanon; his children, David Matheny (Halli) of Leander, Texas, Samuel Matheny of Corvallis, Katrina Shaffer (Kevin) of Williamsburg, Virginia and Andrew Matheny (Carrie) of Gresham; and his brother Ronald Matheny (Susan) of Madras. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
