“Dear Forbes family, This is a message from Holland. We send our condolences from the bottom of our hearts. My mother, Aly Smallenbroek Hielkema, was penpal with Harriette from right after WWII till my father, her husband Jan, died in 2015. We tried to contact Harriette for several times in the past years, without succes. Harriette always was very considerate in sending cards and gifts for christmas and for our birthdays. Wondering what happened to her, we now know.................”
