It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vareta Mae Hartley (La Grande, Oregon), who passed away on August 7, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her daughter Connie Sue Pehrson; her grandson Scottie Hartley Pehrson; and her parents, Andrew Asher and Ruby Asher. She is survived by: her daughters, Etha (Francis), Eula, Annette, Julia and Roberta (Andy); her husband Lenau Dwain Hartley; her siblings, Frannie Asher Graves, Etha Asher Broom, Annette Asher Pinaire, Julia Asher Gorbett, Eula Asher Tucker, Andrew Asher, Jimmy Asher of Liberty Township and Roberta Harriss (John) of Harlem, Georgia; her son-in-law Carl Pehrson; her granddaughters, Anna Sisson, Jenny Lucas and Michelle Smith; and her daughter Linda Marie Hartley. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
