He was predeceased by: his parents, Wendell Gekeler and Doris Gekeler (Blanchard). He is survived by: his brothers, Bruce Gekeler (Jeanine) of Summerville, OR and Gary Gekeler (Rebecca) of La Grande; and his aunts, Audrey Hienlein and Glenda McDaniel. He is also survived by 4 nieces and nephews.
