He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Sams and Amy Kelly Sams; his wife Glenna Marie Taylor; and his brothers, Delbert and Dale.
He is survived by: his sons, Doug (Brenda) of Stoney Creek, Ontario and David (Christine) of La; his grandchildren, Deanne of La Grande, Michael Sams, Kimberlee Smith, Desiree Zigmond, Daryl Sams, Katherine Sams and Josie Sams; and his friend Patricia Young. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Bikes for Books program, in care of Loveland Funeral Chapel, 1508 Fourth St, La Grande.
