It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alvin Lester Hixson (La Grande, Oregon), who passed away on February 29, 2020, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hixson and Opal Hixson (Ortloff); and his siblings, James Hixson, Ada Hamilton and Eileen Okuda.
He is survived by: his former wife Vera Elliott; his wife Patricia Witherrite; his children, Susan Hobbs (John) of Albany, OR, Kim Hixson of Richland, WA and Thomas Hixson (Kristen) of Oregon City, OR; his stepchildren, Amanda Case (Chris) of La Grande, OR and Tausha Murray (Nick DeLaquil) of Meridian, ID; and his siblings, Martha Phillips (Dale) of Union, OR, Linda Hixson of Weatherford, TX and David Hixson (Mabel) of Killdeer, ND. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
