He graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1959. Following a stint in the U.S. Navy that ended in 1962, Jim worked in the woods, primarily as a timber faller and contractor, until his retirement in 2006. Following his long career as a faller, he worked for the Wiard Park District maintenance crew. Jim loved forests, streams, and animals - and enjoyed all three in the company of old friends and beloved family. He found solace in quiet mornings. Jim's kindness, affability, and integrity earned the respect of many. Without effort, he taught everyone to have patience with one another. Jim prized companionship and conversation over ceremony; as such, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Klamath Hospice.
