He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Olive Ruth Martin Harris and William Oscar Harris; his sister Helen Harris Fisher; his wife Mary Ida Ferry Harris; and his children, Mary Kathryn Harris Dixon, David Mercer Harris and Judith Anne Harris Hiller. He was also cherished by 15 grandchildren and more than 45 great grandchildren.
