He is survived by: his children, Lamar Nelson (Bobbi) of Harrisburg, Lamae Stout of Junction City, Kristi Puckett (Jeff) of Cove and Kirby Nelson of Cottage Grove; his sister Dorothy Nelson of Bismarck; and his sisters-in-law, Vivian Riding, Winnie Fenning of Taylorsville, Arlene Benson of Cheyenne and Dorothy Nelson of Waconia. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
