He is survived by: his wife Susan Sheppard; his children, Linda Jones (Steve) of Spokane, Gary Copper (Anne) of Lynchburg, VA and Julie Davis (Jeff) of The Dalles; and his grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, Timothy Jones, Tricia Engelson (Spokane), Jordan Davis, Janell Hall, Jaime Whitmire (The Dalles), Catherine Rasmussen of Sioux Falls, SD, Caroline Whitmire and Clayton Copper (Lynchburg).
He was honored to be awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow for dedicated humanitarian services from Lions Clubs International Foundation and received Lion of the Year in 2009 from the local club.
