Charles Yurcek Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Yurcek (Hood River, Oregon), a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025 at the age of 89.
Charles, AKA Chuck or Jerry, was born on October 6, 1935, in Trimont Minnesota, to parents of John and Anna Yurcek. Chuck grew up in Sherburn, MN., attended Sherburn High School where he played football and played the saxophone in the band. Then onto the University of St Thomas where he graduated with an accounting major and minor in music. Chuck then joined the Air force, and was a missile officer. When home on leave, met his soon to be wife, Judy Comstock. He was stationed in Cheyenne Wyoming and that’s where the family started, children born in Wyoming, Italy, Libya-Africa and then to Colorado, where the youngest was born. He left active duty and joined the Air force reserves and achieved the rank of Major by the time he left the service. He pursued his accounting career as a CPA at various companies before opening his own business in Mammoth Lakes, CA.
Chuck is survived by his wife Judy; his children, Mark (Kim), Chris (Shelly), Amy (Bruce) and Alex (Yvette...passed 2021); and his grandchildren, Brenna (Andrew), Kelley, Carly, Zoe, Savannah and Alexandra.
Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, may Charles find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may his legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
Memorial Services are planned for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 at St Marks Episcopal Church, 400 11th St, Hood River, OR 97031.
