Sherry Irene (Fritter) Thomas Obituary
Sherry Irene Thomas, age 71 of Hillsboro, Oregon passed away on December 20, 2020. She was born to George and Ruby Fritter on December 7, 1949 in Chico, California. Sherry married Robert Earl Knight Jr in 1974, and they were married for 13 years. Daughter Amanda (Mandy) was born two years later, in 1976. Sherry became first a Licensed Vocational Nurse, then furthered her education to become a Licensed Registered Nurse, graduating from Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington. She found her life's calling in nursing, especially being a hospice nurse for a number of years in Kennewick, Washington. Sherry is survived by daughter Amanda Cooley, son-in-law Joshua Cooley, and cherished grandsons Ethan and James Cooley, of Hillsboro, Oregon, as well as several dear friends and caregivers that were close to her heart. She had a close friendship with her ex-husband Bobby later in life, until he preceded her in death in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Richard and David Fritter, and her parents. She loved deeply, always making sure to say "I love you" at the end of every phone call and visit. We take comfort knowing Sherry is now joyfully in her Heavenly home with her Lord and Savior.
