He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lawrence Mahar and Anna Rainey Mahar; his wife Mary Elise; his children, Alan Mahar of Redding, MA and Cindy Butcher of Charlotte, NC; and his nephews, David, Jeff and Jon Hipp of Fairfax, VA. He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren and four great-granddaughters.
