He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jesus Apalategui and Julia Apalategui (Parada); his wife Betty of Hillsboro; his sons, Adam (Natalia) of Las Vegas, Eric (Karen) of Beaverton and David of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; his grandchildren, Brooke and Joseph "Joe" Apalategui of Beaverton; his siblings, Dolores "Lolly" Melendez of Chino Hills, California, Richard (Dottie) of Page and Ruben (Kathy) of Las Vegas, Nevada; his niece Jacque Dodds (Apalategui); and his daughter Karen Julia. He was also cherished by many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either the Home Orchard Society or Disabled American Veterans.
