She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Axel Ek and Agnes Ek; her siblings, Alice, Clarence and Jeanette; her aunt Nettie; her friend Maxine Zobrist; her daughters, Lynn Hallbacka, Jan Hallbacka, Kay Knee (Steve) and Gail Hallbacka; and her grandchildren, Stacey LaFayette (Josh), Isaac Knee and Sam Knee (Joanna). She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and friends.
When she was in her 80's, Irene began volunteering with Meals on Wheels at the Milwaukie Senior Center, which lasted until COVID-19 closed down the Center to volunteers.
