He is survived by: his wife Norma T. Davis; his children, Wesley Davis (Alisa Davis) of Gresham, OR and Stephanie Stegmann (Brent Stegmann) of Wake Forest, NC; his grandchildren, Sophia Davis, Lily Davis, Reece Stegmann and Devin Stegmann; and his sisters, Mary John Dostert of Durham, NC. and Sandra Twiddy (Joe) of Durham, NC..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duke Cancer Institute.
