He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Albert Avansino and Lilian Avansino; his daughter Jennifer; his former spouse Jamie Nell Green; his significant other Iris Venable of Portland, OR; his siblings, William Dean (Claudia) of Nampa, ID and Leslie Bechtel (Jim) of Kalama, WA; his children, Laura Avansino-Young (Robert) of Ocean Park, WA and Patrick Dean (Brenda) of Scappoose, OR; his grandson Gary Green (Patty) of Troutdale, OR; his great grandchild Terry Green of Helper, UT; and his partner's daughter Shelly Druce of Oxnard, CA. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lin's family request that in lieu of flowers, remembrance donations be made the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, the Portland Police Highland Guard or the Portland Police Bureau's Sunshine Division.
