He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Whitlock and Ellen Whitlock; his wife Virginia; and his brother Gary. He is survived by: his sister-in-law Carol; his niece Karen; and his daughters, Laura (Steve), Pam (Chris) and Jana. He is also survived by four grandsons.
