“I did not know Joe that well. Met him in Davenport, Ia and sold him a motorcycle. The following years he would show up and "talk motorcycles" with my friends and I. I LOOKED FORWARD TO THOSE CONVERSATIONS! He was one of the most knowledgable motorcycle people I have met. He was always down to earth and extremely pleasant to talk with. As I said, I did not know him well but will DEFINITELY miss our conversations at the Antique Motorcycle Swap in Davenport! RIP JOE!!! Charlie Milligan, Rochester,”

“The family at D&S Harley-Davidson is beyond sad about this news. Joe was a good friend of ours and we will miss his regular visits and our long talks about motorcycles and life. We are especially thankful for the care he took to keep in touch with our parents, Dick and Marie Martin, dropping by their house or dad's little business to check on them whenever he was in town. He will be missed! We send our love to his family.”
