She was predeceased by: her husband Jim Shields; her parents, Paul Lepisto and Serena Cheek; her stepfather Dale Cheek; and her brother Charlie Marbach.

She is survived by: her children, David Cheek of Grants Pass, Danette Harfst (Robby) of Jacksonville, Debbie Simmons (Vern) of San Benito, Susie Hornback (Ken) of Rio Rancho, Robert Shields (Becky) of Juneau, Laura Shields of Hollister, Jim Shields Jr. and Carla Shields. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
