Wesley Howard Adams Obituary
Wesley Howard Adams, 73, resident of Gates, Oregon passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of December 3, 2020, at George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center primarily of natural causes agitated by COVID-19.
Wesley was born on February 15, 1947, in San Bernadino, California to Virgil Henry Adams Jr and Nadine Geneva Hostetter-Adams. He was married to Joyce Craig of Santaquin, Utah until 1990, a union that produced twin daughters Em & Sam, who were the light of his life. Wesley produced a degree in arts and writing. He hoped to one day write a memoir to share his story with the world. He worked as an over-the-road driver, as well as a taxi driver, for several companies here in Utah. His travels left him with intriguing and thoughtful views on politics and world events which he articulated to the world via social media, mainly Twitter.
He loved the outdoors, specifically camping with his girls. He wished to one day return to Alaska to share his love of fishing with his girls and share the beautiful landscape with them. In 2008, he made his home in Gates, Oregon with a view of the Santiam River where he encompassed himself in gardening and blogging. In September of 2020, the tragic loss of his home due to wildfires forced him to find refuge in Utah with his daughters, who are grateful to have shared the last few months of his life.
Wesley was known for his one-of-a-kind personality and his bear hugs. No matter what you had going on in life, his hugs had a way to absorb it and left you feeling all was right with the world again. In the end, he fought a good fight and went out on his own terms.
Wesley is survived by his sister Sharon Jones of Anchorage, Alaska; his sister Cindy Jones of Wasilla, Alaska; daughters Emily Adams and Samantha (Isaac Lopez) Adams of Kearns, Utah; and son David Oliver Adams of Germany.
Wesley is preceded in death by father Virgil Henry Adams Jr; mother Nadine Geneva Hostetter-Adams; and brother David Dale Adams.
Per Wesley's request, no services will be held.
