James Kitzhaber Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Kitzhaber in Gates, Oregon, born in Greeley, Colorado, who passed away on November 14, 2023 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rae Blackwell Kitzhaber and James Lawrence Kitzhaber; his son James Joseph Alvin Kitzhaber (Jimmy Joe); and his brother Bill Kitzhaber. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Kitzhaber; his daughter Robyn Rae Kitzhaber Onstot; his siblings, Laura Dillard and Paul Kitzhaber; and his stepsons, Eric Weitman, Jason Weitman and Dustin Weitman. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim donated his time to his beloved Big Meadows where he built the campground, welded the corrals at Cyrus Springs and each year took a trip to Sheep Springs.
