He was predeceased by: his parents, Freddie Glen Long and Evelyn Mae Long (Presho); his wife Bernice Cheryl Scarset; his siblings, Tommy Long, Betty and Shirk; and his son Dale Lad Scarset.

He is survived by: his siblings, Dean (Janet Long), Ronnie Long (Rocky Long) of Sheridan and Janette Moldenhauer of Forest Grove, Oregon.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, great-grand-nieces, and nephews as well as numerous cousins.
