He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Heitmann and Katherine Heitmann (Franklin); his wife Janice Elaine Tusow; and his brothers, Don, Gene "Punch", Loy "Oscar", Harley "Huck" and Frank "Frankie'Heitmann.

He is survived by: his children, Shelley Shearer of Forest Grove, Mitch (Terri Heitmann) and Janelle (Randy Reuter); his grandchildren, Nicole Porumb, Brett (Meghan Heitmann), Michael (Martina Heitmann), Amanda (Steve Tuck), Aimee Martinez and Kyle Reuter; and his great grandchild Olivia Tuck. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
