She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Fred Matthias; and her children, Gail (Duane Defrees) of Cornelius, April Matthias (Blaine Thomas) of Cornelius, Rick Matthias (Colleen Beckmeyer) and Mark Matthias (Ali Novinger). She was also cherished by eleven grandchildren and thirty one great grandchildren.

In 2010, due to advancing Alzheimer's Disease, Marilyn moved to Tualatin, OR.
