He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Bahnson Greenwood and Eva Marie Greenwood; his wife Jennifer Sellers; his siblings, Martha Hutchison and Charles Greenwood; his children, Jamie Johnson, A. C. Greenwood and Morgan Greenwood; his stepdaughter Meredith Elliott; and his grandchildren, Olivia, Emma Johnson, Gavin Dickman, Leo and Wren Elliott. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the "James B. Greenwood Memorial Music Scholarship" care of the Lane Community College Foundation.
