It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Florence Mary Shepard of Eugene, Oregon, born in Gaston, Oregon, who passed away on August 29, 2020, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Walta and Katherine Walta; her brothers, John, George and Charles; her sisters-in-law, Eulah Walta and Gertrude Walta Smith; her niece Virginia Leach; her great-nephew Randall Watson; and also John Chavez.
She is survived by: her niece Joan Parish; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Elizabeth Chavez, Emily Flynn, Debbie Hansen, Valerie Hodge, Anne Guthrie, Joel Watson, Brent Watson and Teresa Watson-Baron.
In her long and successful lifetime, she survived the first pandemic of 1918 and was in this world to witness women getting the vote.
