He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Patricia Ann Sonnenburg (Molin); his former wife Shawna Emig; his caregiver Ky Pace; his wife Joan Ann Sonnenburg (Van Cleave) of Echo, Oregon.; his sons, Forrest Sonnenburg and Sterling Sonnenburg; his sisters, Sandra Hansen (Dave), Suzy McAmis (Jon) and Lori Claire Blakenship; his stepchildren, Michael Peak (Monica) and Kimberly Peak; his stepgrandchildren, Damon, Colette, Alexis and Wesley; his children, Breez, Tiffany, Summer, Christopher, Stephen, Lindsey and Chase; his aunt Sandra Sue Sonnenburg; his uncle Bob Bazemore (Becky); his cousins, Shelly, Robert Andrew, Lisa, Stacy and Cindy; his mother-in-law Anna Van Cleave; his sisters-in-law, Janielle Still and Susan Burkhart; his father Robert E. Sonnenburg, Sr.; and his son Robert E. Sonnenburg, III. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
