He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Franklin and Grace Louveda Barnes. He is survived by: his children, Wanda Custance (Gary), Sandy Barnes, Brad Barnes (Colleen), Amanda Valle (Ron) and Julie Moran (Mike); and his spouse Ardis Marie Kezer.

In lieu of flowers, Jerry asked that people send donations to organizations that help young Navy and Marine Corp personnel and their families.
