He is survived by: his former wife Wilma Blunck; his brother Ralph; his wife Margee; and his children, Charles Shaffer, Thomas Shaffer, Rollo Shaffer, Janice Stafford, Marie Wetherall, David Holt and Daniel Holt. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
