He was predeceased by: his daughter Jacqueline. He is survived by: his significant other's children, Scott and Jacqueline; his significant other Wanita Rose Currier; his brother Mark Smith; his son Scott Smith; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Luis Mendoza and Tanner Smith; and his great grandchildren, Sol, Liliana and Everly Mendoza.

Tom and Wanita graciously donated to the Creswell Rural Fire Department, funds to purchase their first hydraulic rescue tools in her honor.
