He was predeceased by: his parents, Ebely Carpenter and Velma Carpenter (Inqersoll); and his siblings, Wyma Smith, Billy Carpenter, Pearl Vice, Naomi Ruth Aldrich, Bertha Herron, Junior Carpenter and Joanne Carpenter.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Carpenter Mifflin (Russell) of Arcata, CA, Michael Alvin Carpenter (Lisa) of Cottage Grove, OR and Richard Peckinpaugh of Marion, IL; and his close friend Cindy Johnston. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
