He was predeceased by: his parents, Wylie Frakes and Pearl Frakes (Richardson); and his siblings, Inez, Hesper, Willa, Maurice and Loye.

He is survived by: his wife Ruby Louise Morey of Greeley; and his children, Laura Ann Dooley of Dallas, Texas and Cody Joe Frakes of Corvallis. He is also survived by three grand children and six great grand children.
