She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Merlin C. Gorbutt and Helen Gorbutt (Bomar); her husband Donald L. Amort; her sisters, Myrle and Marilyn; and her sons, Anthony, Andrew, Alexander and Alan. She was also cherished by 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Gloria & Don worked a number of years on the Newman Foundation, renting and repairing student housing.
