He was predeceased by: his father Jim Long; and his grandparents, Bud and Laurel Nelson. He is survived by: his cousin Matt Stephens; his mother JoAnn Long-Donaldson (Nelson); his stepfather Ken Donaldson; his brother Cordell Long (Kelly Spinney); and also Kaleigh.
While Diego was fighting COVID-19 in the hospital these past few weeks he was able to tell his mother he loved her and his brother and family were able to visit him.
