She was predeceased by: her parents, Clay Byers and Sarah Byers (Rowe); her husband Joe Steele; her siblings, Margaret Byers-Jackson and Clay Byers, Jr.; her husband Charlie; and her son Billy Joe Steele.

She is survived by: her former husband Charles A. Miller; her children, Linda Kersey, Debbie Heller and Gary Steele; and her siblings, Glen Byers, Carl Raymond Byers (Ray), Clarence Byers (Chuck) and Mary Steele-Nelson. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
