“Being a girl, I didn't hang out with Charlie, but I will never forget getting to know him and his wonderful sense of humor when we went on the American Democracy Tour in the summer of 1970. When you spend 3 days on a train with a group of kids, it's inevitable. He kept us all in stitches. In this picture, he's in the front row 5th from the right. I'm 4th from the left in the second row. Thank you, Charlie, for making it such a fun trip. I hold your family and friends in my heart.”
