He was predeceased by: his parents, W. Eugene Whitlinger and Nell Gagen Whitlinger; his former wife Loretta; his brother Jack Whitlinger; his brother-in-law James Lucas; his niece Rhonda J. Whitlinger; and his nephew Michael G. Lucas.
He is survived by: his wife Rose E. Myers Whitlinger; his siblings, William Whitlinger (Myrna) of Apollo and Rita Ann Lucas of Lower Burrell; his sister-in-law Shirley Whitlinger of Apollo; and his stepchildren, Jeffrey (Suzi) of Columbus and Jennifer Myers (Eric Dunn) of Cleveland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
