He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Wilfred Thompson and Kathleen Mariam Thompson (Matthews); his wife Kathryn; and his brothers, George and Ross.
He is survived by: his children, Vicki Carter, Richard Thompson and Jeff Thompson (Liz). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
