He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Abigail Ashdown and Perry Ashdown; his children, Lori (Roger), Mark (Leilani), Cheryl, Brian (Sharon), Elaine (Peter) and Russell (Kim); and his siblings, Gail and Gene (Chris). He was also cherished by fifteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In 2012, Mom and Dad moved from their home of 45 years in Monterey Park, California to live in Portland, Oregon following Mom's diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease.
