He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, David Hanninen and Margaret Hanninen (Lund); his spouse Carol Backus; his daughters, Kristine, Kris Waley Beckman and Karen Waley Black (Roger); his stepson Andrew Brooks; his children, Brandon, Alex, Grant Beckman, Jessica Nelson Fredericks (Justin), Jacob Nelson and Sara Nelson; his great grandchild Ryan Fredericks; and his brother-in-law James H Phelps (Susan Bender Phelps). He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made to the Audubon Society of Portland, American Lung Association in Oregon, or a charity of your choice.
