Dorothy M. Schlegel Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 3, 2021, at the age of 96, Dorothy M. Schlegel (Banks, Oregon), born in Kalama, Washington passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dorothy M. Schlegel to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Frank Modrow and Hope Margaret Modrow (Nettleton); her siblings, Margaret Alkema, Patricia Bryant and George Modrow; and her sons, Patrick George Schlegel and Robert Schlegel.
She is survived by: her husband Robert Schlegel of Banks, OR.; her son Bill (Laurie); her granddaughter Annie Schlegel; her son David (Jill); her grandchildren, Kelley Lindstrom (Alex) and Jenna Colts (Austin); her great grandchildren, Maggie Schenk, Kate Schenk, Danny Schenk, Jacob Bolger, David Bolger, Charlie Bolger, Will Schlegel and Lindy Schlegel; and also, Peggy Schlegel, Amy Schenk (Dan), Beth Bolger and Rob Schlegel (Kisha). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
After a year like no other, with limitations on physical contact due to the Covid pandemic, Dorothy was able to return to the farm for a last visit on Mother's Day 2021, surrounded by love, laughter and hugs from her sons and daughters-in-law.
The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the Banks High School Alumni Foundation for the Schlegel Family Scholarship Fund, 13050 N.W. Main Street, Banks, Oregon 97106, in her memory.
