He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Colton and Dorothy Colton; and his sister-in-law Lorene Colton. He is survived by: his son Eric Eugene Colton (Darcy); his granddaughter Stephanie Anne Colton; his wife Connie; his daughter Stephanie Colton-Creemer (Jeff); his grandchildren, Talon Colton (Meagan), Shelby Preston (Josh) and RaeAnn Arends; his great grandchildren, Paycen Preston and Addilee Colton; and his siblings, Robert Colton, Fred Colton (Joan) and Kathy Sherman (David). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
