She was predeceased by: her parents, Anderson Messer and Cecile Messer; her sister Mabel Britton; and her son Tom Mespelt. She is survived by: her husband Norman Proffitt of Baker City, Oregon; and her sons, Charlie Mespelt (Kim) of Baker City, Larry Mespelt of Clarkston, David Mespelt (Julie) of Baker City, Bob Mespelt (Arletta) of Dunseith and Norman Jr. Proffitt (Jess) of RockSpring. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
