With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gaylord Hugh Salter of Athena, Oregon, who passed away on January 7, 2021 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Salter and Ida Laverdure Salter; his former wife Viva Swearingen; his siblings, Joyce Snider, Robert William Salter and Lela Salter; and his nephew Ken Snider.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeff of Tacoma and Jon (Carla) of Athena; his wife Joy Ward; his daughter Jodi Venneri (Doug) of Walla Walla; his grandsons, Elliot Salter (Kati King) of Moro, OR and Jason Demianew (Renee) of Weston, OR; his great grandchildren, Summit and Lincton Demianew; his sister Helen Salter of Pendleton; and his nieces and nephews, Janice Brooks (Les), Dick Snider (Nancy), Larry Snider, Rochelle Salter-Campbell (Tim), Chris Salter (Marjorie) and Gordon Rowan (Julie).
